Finishing off June

June 13th: UV 1/2 Marathon!
I'm so proud of my amazing hubby!  He ran this 1/2 marathon for the first time back in 2011 and decided to do it again this year.  I think we're both glad that he was able to train more for it this time.  He crossed the finish line just under 2 hours and 3 minutes.  He beat his first race time by almost 17.5 minutes, which is phenomenal!  I'm honestly really glad I was "early" getting there because we would have missed him running in.  We only waited about 10 minutes or so before I spotted him and got super excited to see him running into the finish line!
Darwin left home around 3:30am to catch a shuttle that would take him up the canyon to the starting line. Super early start to the day!

Way to go for finishing your 2nd half marathon, lovey!

Showing the girls his metal.  Aurora loved that he won a metal like Wreck It Ralph :)

Darwin's parents came and watched him run in too.  It was fun to have them there with us.

Way to go, babe!  You're our hero!

June 19th: Nerf Shooting
We don't get them out very often, but the girls sure love to shoot the nerf guns when we do get them out :)

June 21st: Father's Day
I felt bad that Darwin made his own breakfast on Father's Day, but one of his favorite breakfasts is Coffee Cake and he has a special way he makes it, and it's delicious, so he ended up making his own breakfast.
I love when our girls wake up and want to snuggle.  Cuties!
 photo DSC08964.jpg
After church and a nap we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house, even though they were gone on vacation, to swing on the swing and jump on the trampoline.  It's always fun to go to their house!
 photo DSC08966.jpg
It's so hard to get a good picture of everyone smiling at the same time...hence the need for multiple pictures :)

The teeter-totter at Gma's and Gpa's is super fun!

Savy wasn't very cooperative for a picture, so that's the best we got of us :)

Good times on the trampoline with Daddy!

Sorry I was a slacker this year, babe, but thanks for being so awesome!! I hope you know how much we love you and appreciate all you do for us!!!!
Happy Father's Day!

June 26th: Feeding the Ducks
As you know, we love taking the girls to feed the ducks.  It's a must-do several times every summer, and always fun times to be had!

I love these cuties!

June 24th and 27th: Birthday's!
We didn't get any pictures of Daddy's birthday--sorry, babe--but we actually had a lot of fun!  Our Aussies invited us to go to Seven Peaks water park with them.  That's the first time we've gone in probably 9 years, and the first time for the girls ever!  It was tons of fun, but we didn't get any pictures.  That afternoon we took the girls to see Inside Out.  It's a super cute movie!  We all loved it!

That Friday we went to Red Robin for dinner to celebrate both of our birthday's.  That's always fun, especially because we only have to pay for the girls!

Saturday was my birthday and we ended up celebrating several other people's birthday that day too!  The girls helped me open my presents that morning.

Daddy got a bunch of music for me to listen to while I'm working.  I listen to a lot of music! :)

I'm not sure where these Billy-Bob teeth came from, but they're hilarious, especially when the girls wear them :)
 photo DSC09001.jpg
The girls are really into birthdays right now and love everything about them them, so making a cake was a must.  On Sunday we made a cake to celebrate.

Aurora decorated it for us :)

And she took this picture for us :)

That evening we took a Sunday drive up in the mountains.  I love that the mountains are so close and that we get to enjoy their beauty on a daily basis!

It was a great way to finish off our birthday weekend!  Happy birthday to us, lovey! :)

June 27th: Grandma Diane's 60th Birthday Party
(Thanks Sarah and Emma for sharing some of the pictures you took of our family at the party!)
I mentioned that on my birthday we celebrated several other birthdays too.  One of those was Grandma Diane's birthday (our Aussie mom).  She's such a hoot and we always love being with all of our Aussies!  There's never a dull moment with these guys.  We love you all!
It was a cowgirl themed party so we all got dressed up and loved it!  There was a pony and buggy ride--loved by all, of course!  I think Aurora got to go on just about every single ride!

Louisa made this super cute cake for her mom.  I wish I had such talent :)
 photo DSC09026.jpg
The ponies needed a break for a little while but then it was back to the buggy rides!  I think Aurora was finally satisfied once she got to ride on the front seat :)
 photo DSC09032.jpg
And I was impressed Savannah was okay riding in the back without Mom or Dad with her!
 photo DSC09035.jpg
It was fun to chat with old friends and neighbors we hadn't seen in a while.

After dinner and buggy rides it was time for dancing!

It was certainly a fun filled evening celebrating the life a woman we love and admire.  Happy Birthday, Grandma Diane!  We love you!

And that wraps up June! :)

Art City Days 2015

June 11th through 13th: Art City Days
We love Art City Days every year when it comes around and it just gets more fun as our girls get older.

June 11th
This year we took our girls to the kids carnival--we have never done the kids carnival before, but it was definitely worth it!
Waiting in line to try a bouncy caterpillar thing.
 photo DSC08841.jpg
The girls had to go into the caterpillar on their own and they did really well right until the very end--Savannah got stuck!  And scared.  Poor thing.  Aurora tried her best to try and help her get out, but to no avail.  I'm sure it was quite a sight to see me put my head inside the back end of the caterpillar to coax Savannah to come out. Haha! It makes me laugh just thinking about it :)
 photo DSC08844.jpg
They really liked the bouncy/blow up things!
 photo DSC08851.jpg
I love Savannah's air, and her curls, in this picture :)
 photo DSC08853.jpg
The girls and I went on a little train ride. We waited in line for a long time and the actual ride was maybe 3 minutes.  The joys of carnivals, right?  At least the girls were happy!
 photo DSC08856.jpg
 photo DSC08857.jpg
Aurora got her hair colored.  She thought it was pretty much the coolest thing ever and can't wait to do it again next year. Haha!
 photo DSC08859.jpg
Savannah didn't want hers colored at first but finally decided she wanted it done too!
 photo DSC08864.jpg
The girls got tattoos

 photo DSC08862.jpg
While we were waiting in line for the swings, it started raining and the swings were shut down for a while.  We didn't want to wait in line for a ride that wasn't going, so we went for some more fun in the bounce houses! A little rain can't dampen our Art City Days fun!
 photo DSC08868.jpg
The rain stopped pretty quickly and the swings were back in business!
 photo DSC08873.jpg
Aurora was hilarious to watch.  She started making silly faces at us every time she passed us.  Funny girl!
 photo DSC08875.jpg
I'm not sure where she came up with the idea, but she recently started trying to see if she can touch her nose with her tongue.  Since then, she's found out she has at least two cousins who can touch their nose with their tongue!
 photo DSC08877.jpg
Savannah loved this ride enough they had to do it twice.  It took a little convincing to get Aurora to ride it again with her sister, but she was a good sport. Savannah took her shoes off as soon as the ride started this time.  She did really well to not drop them!
 photo DSC08887.jpg
After some time at the kids carnival, it was time to go home and have a nap so we could have more carnival fun in the evening.  I'm grateful when both girls take naps.  It makes for a happy momma!  That night we met up with Grandma and Grandpa for some dinner and fun at the big carnival.  The girls couldn't wait to ride the merry-go-round!
 photo DSC08888.jpg
I'm glad Savannah is big enough this year to ride the rides with Aurora.  The last couple of years we've had to go with friends just to get Aurora to consider getting on the rides.  It's such a great thing to have a built-in friend when you have a sister!
 photo DSC08893.jpg
Savannah didn't mind the roller coaster, and Aurora rode it with Orlando last year, but she didn't care for it this time.  When she got off of the ride she asked us why we put her on it in the first place.  Whoops!

June 12th
The next day I had to go into work for a little bit, so Daddy took the girls to the kids art festival while I was gone.
They had a lot of fun making things together!

They made their own kites! And they really do fly when there's a good enough breeze.

Then the girls got their faces painted.  I'm impressed they both sat so well to have it done!

June 13th
After an early morning of going to see Daddy finish his 1/2 marathon (that post to come later), we went to watch the parade!
 photo DSC08934.jpg
I guess we didn't get many pictures that day, but that night we went to the fireworks too.  Savannah fell asleep on our way to the high school (about a 5 minute drive) and slept until the fireworks started.  I'm not sure who planned it, but the sprinklers turned on in the field we, and a bunch of other people, were sitting in!  Luckily we had sat just to the side of one sprinkler head and didn't end up getting wet.  Jared and Don had to keep repositioning the sprinkler head though.  It was pretty funny, and good memories for sure! Haha!

Happy Art City Days!  Until next year...
