April Miscellaneous

I always tend to have some random pictures to post, so here we go with our miscellaneous pictures :)

Bubbles
Daddy put a lot of bubbles in the tub for the girls one night.  They loved it.  He's way more fun than I am! Haha!

Silly girls!

And, Savannah thinks it's pretty cool to make spit bubbles right now.  Silly kid.

Sundays
Sunday afternoon naps are the best!  Especially when you have a sweet newborn baby to snuggle :)
 photo DSC02061_zpsq96n4spx.jpg
One Sunday after church the girls redecorated the living room.  They had so much fun laying out their blankets and piling up their "friends" a.k.a stuffed animals and toys.

That same evening we got to chat over FaceTime with Sean and Andrea.  Miss you guys!

Uncle Ryan usually joins us for dinner on Sunday's.  It's always nice to have him come over.

Silly picture of Savannah :)

Playing Outside
The girls are practicing more with roller-skating.  It's fun to switch things up a bit sometimes.

Savy loves her new trike!

Daddy pulled the benches out for the picnic table because we're eating outside more as the weather warms up.  I love that Savy was "surfing" on the bench :)
 photo DSC02054_zps9mnnivcn.jpg
Aurora offered to sweep the sticky seeds off the trampoline, but this is what she was really doing.  Silly kid.

Allergies
One tough thing about spring time is all the pollen in the air.  Darwin and I haven't dealt with allergies much ourselves, but our kids seem to have some problems with allergies.  One morning before preschool, I gave Aurora some benadryl and zyrtec to help with her reaction to the pollen in the air, and she dozed off on the couch while holding Talmage because the benadryl made her sleepy.  Poor thing.  At least they were cozy together!

Talmage
I love that the girls love to snuggle with their baby brother.  And, I'm glad he likes it too, most of the time :)

Savannah "pretend sleeping" in Talmage's crib :)
 photo DSC02108_zpskvwhap3m.jpg
I used to collect moose things.  I still really like them, but I'm not so much of a collector anymore.  Darwin's mom bought this cute moose outfit when we were expecting Savannah, before we knew she was a girl.  It looks so cute on Talmage and I'm so glad we can finally use it on a baby boy!

Our handsome little guy :)

I love when our kids sleep in funny positions.  Talmage has joined the ranks!

And that wraps up April!

Meeting more family.

Last weekend we headed up north so more of my family could meet Talmage.  It was fun to go up and spend a few hours with the fam!

Our girls were so excited to see their cousin, Koda.  They all had fun playing dress up together :)
 photo DSC02088_zpsp3gd0kyv.jpg
And of course we had to have a silly face shot!
 photo DSC02089_zpsykiu4aki.jpg
Nanny and Gramps gave the girls new aprons they can wear when they're helping me in the kitchen.  The girls love wearing aprons and they were growing out of their old ones so these new aprons are perfect!
 photo DSC02092_zpsy3urhmxz.jpg
The aprons are a bit big right now, with plenty of growing room.  We thought it was funny that Aurora's strap ended up down around her tush.
 photo DSC02096_zpskvewlu6l.jpg
Koda painted the girls nails.  They all thought that was pretty fun!
 photo DSC02094_zpshol0qvuu.jpg
After having fun together for a few hours, it was time to head home.  The girls fell asleep in the car.  I thought it was funny that Savy fell asleep holding her fruit snack wrapper.
 photo DSC02100_zpsmjvu6oly.jpg
On Monday, the girls made the sugar cookies Nanny and Gramps gave them with their new aprons and spatula.  They thought it was pretty fun :)
 photo DSC02101_zpswubt0pwb.jpg
Don't worry.  Savannah didn't really bite into the butter!
 photo DSC02103_zpsivbmvjnn.jpg
I forgot to take pictures of the finished product, but we cut the cookies into Hello Kitty and Mickey Mouse shapes.  Who can beat that?!  Not to mention, they were delicious!  Thanks, Nanny and Gramps.  Love you guys!

Toothless.

I feel like we've hit a big milestone in our parenting.
Our oldest child has lost her first tooth!
 photo DSC02077_zpsvteimccg.jpg
On April 11th, Aurora started really complaining about her tooth hurting.  It started at lunch time when she was eating a baby carrot.  She kept complaining about it.  A lot.  I didn't really think it was time for her to lose a tooth, and it looked to me like she may have chipped it, but sure enough...it was loose!  Over the next few days she wiggled it more and more until on April 21st around 10:00am she pulled it out all by herself!  I was so proud of her for being so brave!  She was so proud of herself and I was glad that Daddy didn't pull it out the night before so she had the chance to do it herself!  She was also very excited that she can still whistle just fine with her tooth missing :)
 photo DSC02082_zpsjl15jwhv.jpg
She put her tooth in our special Tooth Fairy pillow.
 photo DSC02083_zpseyq5kkfc.jpg
She was very excited when she woke up the next morning and found that the Tooth Fairy had given her a dollar for her tooth!

Congratulations, darling!

Spring Break Week

With a new baby at our house, spring break was pretty low-key this year,  but it was perfect!

General Conference
Spring break started off with General Conference weekend.  It's one of my favorite times of the year when we get to listen to a true prophet and other leaders for two whole days!
It was fun for all of us to snuggle up and get cozy together!

Working in the Garden
Because we're living at Grandma and Grandpa's house right now, it was easier for us to get the garden planted earlier this year.  The weather during spring break was perfect for getting the garden started!  Darwin and the girls furrowed one day and then planted a couple days later.  I helped by taking care of Talmage and played the role of supervisor :)

We have LOTS of Box Elder Bugs right now.  The girls were scared of them at first and then became fascinated with them.

We took advantage of the warmer weather and roasted hot dogs for the first time this year.

It was a little chilly so I bundled up Talmage.

The girls loved that we let them roast their own hot dogs and marshmallows.  They did great!

Watching Daddy so they would know what to do.

Aurora was our little perfectionist.  She wanted to make sure she had them spaced out perfectly.  I had to keep reassuring her that she was doing a great job and to not worry about the spacing so much.
 photo DSC01954_zpsres4i67n.jpg
Planting delicious peas!
 photo DSC01955_zpsmooe176b.jpg
Savy did a great job too!  She was a little faster with getting her row done because she wasn't as concerned about the spacing of the seeds as much, and she had some help from Daddy.

After they got all the seeds in the ground, it was time to lay out the soaker hoses.
 photo DSC01964_zpssriwun9z.jpg
Aurora was a great helper and told us she wants to be a "hose worker" when she grows up :)
 photo DSC01963_zpsursweisv.jpg
She got bored after a while and decided it was more fun to play in the dirt with Savannah.

It's been fun to watch the veggie plants poke up out of the ground over the last few weeks.  We can't wait to eat them when they're ready!
