Easter 2016

March 26, 2016
This year we decided, somewhat last minute, to take the girls to a nearby city Easter egg hunt the day before Easter.  It was 7:00am when we decided we'd go, and the race started at 9:00am.  With 5 people to get ready, we were rushing to get there on time, but we made it!  The race was extra exciting because we woke up that morning to snow on the ground!  It actually made the eggs easier to see on the ground.  There were tons of people there!  The city had different areas designated for different age groups to make the "race" more fair.  Our girls were in separate age groups this time so Darwin and I split up.  He took Savannah and I had Aurora and Talmage with me.

Go get 'em, girl!

The older kids were a little more aggressive.  I told Aurora to just run to the middle, thinking she'd get more eggs if she could get there quickly.  Turns out, that's what everyone else did so I had her turn around and get the eggs that all the other kids had missed.  She still only got about 5-6 eggs, and the "race" only lasted about 10 seconds total, but the girls had fun.

Baby Talmage at his first Easter egg hunt :)
I was a little nervous to have him around so many people with him being so little, so we didn't linger after the egg hunt to find to Easter Bunny.  The girls were a little sad that they didn't get to see the Easter Bunny, but they got over it pretty quickly.

He's so cute in his little snow suit!

After the egg hunt, we took the kids up to the "doughnut factory" (a.k.a. Krispie Kreme) for some fun, festive Easter doughnuts.  They were pretty delish, and very cute!

Later that day, Daddy helped the girls color Easter eggs.  They had a blast, as always!

They had a LOT of colors to choose from!

Being so careful!

After the eggs were dry, they got to decorate them.  I think this egg had 20 stickers on it :)

March 27, 2016 - Easter Sunday
The girls were very excited to wake up Easter morning to see that the Easter Bunny had in fact found our house.  Daddy had told them the night before that the Easter Bunny may have skipped our house because the girls were taking so long getting ready for bed.  Thank goodness he came back to our area!
Our cute girls in their pretty Easter dresses.

Rori thought it was pretty funny that the Easter Bunny hid an egg in her shoe.  Savy found one in a sock she had left out.

Trying to reach an egg up high!  They waited until after church to come home and do the serious egg hunting.  We were still finding eggs a few days later!

We thought it would be funny to take a picture of Talmage in his Easter basket.  It didn't turn out quite like I pictured in my head (mostly because he is bigger than I pictured he would look in the basket), but it'll do :)

With the bunny ears he got in his basket.  Poor kid.  We just couldn't help ourselves!

Ready to go to dinner at my cousin's house.  My great-aunt, who my kids lovingly call Nanny Sharon, made the hat and booties.  He looked so cute!

My parents got this bib for Talmage but Darwin thought it was for him :)

Talmage didn't love wearing it.

Dinner was delicious!  We had so much fun visiting and chatting that we didn't get any pictures while we were at dinner, but overall Easter was wonderful.

Most of all, we're so grateful for the sacrifice of our Savior and his glorious resurrection that we celebrate each Easter season.

Happy Easter!

More fun in March.

March 16, 2016 - First Bath
It's become a tradition for Daddy to give our babies their first bath at home.

Talmage does't love bath time at this point.

March 17, 2016 - St. Patrick's Day
I usually try to do something fun for the girls on St. Patrick's Day but I kind of dropped the ball this year.  Granted, I've been pretty busy with a newborn!  We did have green milk with our cereal, and the girls got to take a bath with green water too.  That was about the extent of our St. Patrick's Day fun this year though.

March 18th and 19th, 2016 - First bottle and randoms
Daddy got to feed Talmage his first bottle!

He ate it like a champ!

The girls were excited to see him eating from a bottle :)

Savy decided it was her turn with the camera again.

An Easter egg rolled under a bench where Savy couldn't reach it.  Funny that she took a picture of it :)

My cute family reading scriptures together.  I couldn't resist capturing this every day moment.

The next time Talmage had a bottle Aurora jumped at the opportunity to feed him.  She was thrilled!

We had a new temple in our area dedicated.  It was so great for us to get to watch the cultural celebration as a family the night before the dedication.  The girls loved it!  They especially loved dancing along with the music!

We all went to Kangaroo Zoo with some friends of ours to celebrate their daughter's birthday.  It was the first time we had been there.  The girls really enjoyed it!

March 20, 2016 - Footprint Tie
With each kid we have, I make a footprint tie for Darwin.  I surprised him with Aurora's when she was a baby but he has helped me with the others.  Darwin wears the kid's tie to work on their birthday and to church on the Sunday closest to their birthday.  It's a fun tradition we have.
Our little black-footed baby :)
 photo DSC01703_zpsvtqmqx2s.jpg
Finished product - It's tricky to get a wiggly little foot centered on a tie just right so it's not perfect, but it works!
 photo DSC01705_zpsxmavirzi.jpg
And of course after having your foot slopped with black paint, you need to have a bath!

And then some snuggle time with your oldest sister.

Talmage
And just for kicks, here are some pictures of our cute baby boy.
The flash was a little bright. Sorry kiddo!

This is one of my favorites :)

And this one too.  I just can't get enough of our handsome little man!

He looks a little dramatic here.  Maybe he'll be a good actor?

And we've started doing tummy time.  He's not a fan so far.
