Playing Catch-Up

Make sure you scroll down to see our latest 3 posts :)

Remember these?

We made these onesies to tell our parents we were expecting Aurora. I finally got pictures of her in all of them...so here they are!

For my parents
I took these back in September
For Dar's parents
I took these yesterday :)
(P.S. These are 6-9 mo. size onesies, and our one year old can still wear them just fine!)

Cousins (i.e. family photos)

Just after Christmas we went up north to have a whole bunch of pictures taken. We did our family pictures, Aurora's 1st year pictures, cousin pictures, Dakoda's 2nd year pictures, and my goofy siblings pictures. (I've posted some of them already, but they're all going up again in this post.)
Us :)
Our beautiful 1 year old Aurora!!
Cousins :)
(minus a few)

A little background on this one: since getting the "cousins" picture and hanging it up in our living room, Aurora LOVES to look at it. When she does, I always say "cousins" to her. Last Friday she was looking at it and I kept saying, "cousins" and she totally said it back!! TWICE!! Clear as a bell. This is significant because the only other words she really has down are Momma, Daddy, and baba. I was SHOCKED! She hasn't said it again since, but I am still amazed she even said it at all. Way to go, baby girl!

This one cracks us up
2 year old Dakoda!
My goofy younger sibs
And last but not least, Skylar :)

Oh, what would YOU do for a Klondike bar?

Camp in the Utah mountains in the middle of winter?
Dar did.

He planned a Klondike camp-out with the scouts in our ward and they were able to go the first weekend in January. We were honestly really worried they wouldn't have snow (the whole point of a Klondike camp-out is to play in the snow!). And they didn't have any snow--the first day. But they were pleasantly surprised to wake up to about 3-4 inches of snow the next morning. Dar was in heaven! Although we had to tease him a little bit because one of the scout motto's is "Be Prepared," right? Well, he wasn't prepared for the snow...he was prepared for MUD. When they woke up with snow in the morning he sent one of the other scout leaders back into town to get the Klondike sled they worked so hard on but thought they weren't going to be able to use, Dar's snow pants, and his coat. Silly boy. They had a blast though, and I'm so glad. Camping in the winter may sound fun to the boys, but definitely not to me!

Getting breakfast going

Our Young Men's presidency (minus Dar; he's taking the picture)
All 3 of the scouts who went (and stayed all night) playing with the sled
Wipe-out!
My handsome hubby excited about being able to use their sled :)
He may or may not want me to tell you he got a little crazy with the sled and accidentally bruised his tail-bone. Ouchy! Poor guy.
The boys' camp sight
Is that not beautiful to look at? Love it!
Our good friend, Tyson, and Dar. Happy boys :)

Birthday Celebration(s)!

**Warning!! This post has birthday picture overload!!**

This lucky little girl of ours got to have not one, not two, but THREE birthday celebrations. Partly because our condo isn't big enough to hold everyone at the same time (comfortably--I'm sure we could all squeeze in, but it's not the most pleasant thought) and partly because Aurora has a cousin who celebrates her birthday just 4 days before!

Celebration #1 - 1.8.12
Up north with my family to celebrate Koda's 2nd birthday, and Aurora's 1st birthday

This 1 year old wasn't shy at all with smashing and eating her cake!

Happy Birthday, baby girl! We are all so blessed to have you in our lives to make us smile and brighten our days. What an incredible first year it has been! We love you!!
