Family

Some of my family came down after Easter to meet Savannah.  It was nice to spend a few hours with them admiring our cute little munchkin :)  We also got to see how big baby Hyrum has gotten!  He and Savannah are 10 weeks apart.  It's fun to have cousins so close in age!

After everyone took turns holding baby Vannah we took the kids to the playground to help them burn some energy.  They were itching to get outside!

Aurora was in heaven getting the chance to play with her cousins.  She doesn't get to see them very often, but thank goodness for skype, although we don't use it often enough.  Thanks again for coming down, guys!  We love you all!

4.22.13 - 1 month!

It's crazy how time flies!  Savannah turned 1 month old on Monday.  I really wish I could make time stand still, or at least freeze her in this stage a little longer.  I LOVE having a newborn at home again!  She sure is such a joy and we love having her with us!

Since I'm a slacker on my blogging lately and didn't get this posted, here are Vannah's 2 week stats:
Weight: 7 lbs 14.5 oz (37%)
Length: 20 inches (33%)
Head: 35.5 cm (54%)
Savannah at 1 month old!

Here are some things we've learned about our little miss Savannah in the last month since she joined our family:
-Savannah is such a mellow baby and hardly ever cries.
-She does a funny little foot twitch that I could feel her do against my ribs starting a few months before she was born.
-She's usually pretty patient with all the love, hugs, and kisses she gets from her big sister--especially when she accidentally gets squished from so much loving :)
-She wakes up 2-3 times a night to eat and then usually goes right back to sleep.
-She eats pretty consistently every three hours around the clock.
-She prefers nursing to drinking from a bottle.
-She sleeps with her eyes open a lot, just like Aurora did.
-She doesn't really make lots of sounds yet like Aurora did at this stage, but she definitely has her moments :)
-She's usually content to sit and watch what we're doing, but she really loves to be held and snuggled too.
-She doesn't really like being swaddled and prefers to sleep with her arms out.
-She smiles in her sleep a lot and I can't wait to see her smile for real!
-She has a love/hate relationship with her binky and it usually takes some convincing before she'll decide it's okay to take it.
-We moved her up to size 1 diapers about a week and a half ago.
-We moved her up to 0-3 month sized clothes this week.  She's growing way too fast!!
-She doesn't like to get her diaper changed or her clothes changed.
-She generally really likes bath time, until it's time to wash her hair.
-So far she likes car rides and slept the entire way up to Park City and back this week--her longest car ride so far.
-Her eyes are already almost the same color blue as Darwin's and Aurora's.
-She does really well at holding her head up, at least until her neck gets tired :)

Savannah is such a great baby and we're so very grateful she's here and healthy!!

Easter 2013

I hate how behind I am with my blogging, and I hope you can bear with me, but blogging is honestly usually at the bottom of my priority list right now.  Sometimes it's a toss-up between taking a nap, getting stuff done around the house, and then maybe blogging in my little bit of free time.  Oh, well.  These little kiddos and my increase in sleep deprivation are so worth it!  Savannah really is a good sleeper but I still feel tired most days and I love when my nap wins out, minus being behind in the things I'd like to get done.  Such is life with a newborn :)

So, on to our Easter 2013 post!

Our little miss Savannah was only a week old when Easter came around this year.  I had some mixed emotions at Easter this year because Nastassia came and went the day before Easter last year so I can't help but feel a little sad at Easter time.  But, our little Nastassia is such an amazing reminder of our Savior's Resurrection when Easter comes around.  We thought a lot about Nastassia and wished we had her here with us, but honestly, if she were here we wouldn't have Savannah with us now.  Man, life is crazy!  We love our sweet Savannah so much and I'm so glad I had her here to hold and snuggle as I shed a few tears for Nastassia at Easter time and on her birthday.  I can't believe it's been a whole year since we held her tiny little body in our hands.  How grateful I am for that tiny little body and her spirit and the impact it has made in our lives!

The morning before Easter Rori woke up with some awesome shark fin hair from her "do" the day before.  This is her growly shark face to go along with her awesome hair :)

The day before Easter our ward had an Easter party and egg hunt.  Darwin took Aurora while I stayed home with Vannah.  Dar said Rori didn't really know what to do with the eggs, but finally got the gist after a while.  She didn't really care for the eggs but was excited when she realized there was candy inside!

As far as we can tell she has grown out of her egg allergy, but she doesn't like them, so she fed the egg to Daddy :)

We had a big family dinner at my cousin's house with all of my family.  It was really nice to see everyone and show off our brand new baby, but we didn't let anyone hold Savannah.  We wanted to be safe and make sure she wouldn't get sick.

HAPPY EASTER!
Even if it is a little bit late :)

2 weeks together

I survived my first week at home with two kids and no help during the day. Yay!  It actually went really well and the only rough times were when Aurora fought her naps.  Luckily she's usually pretty good and does take a nap most days--2 hour long naps lately!  So nice!  But I still haven't had much time for blogging because I'm either napping when the girls are napping, or my computer time is taken up by working on my church calling responsibilities.  So the blog gets neglected, not that I don't think about blogging :)

It was so very nice to have Darwin home with us for two weeks, and we all loved that time we had together.  We spent quite a big of time relaxing, but we were productive in a lot of ways too.  Here's some of what we did:
Savannah's first manicure - 3.24.13
