July 24th is Pioneer Day in Utah, the day we celebrate the Mormon Pioneers entering the Salt Lake Valley. Our town has lots of fun things to do to celebrate. We started out the day by watching a parade, and Aurora got to be in it! We sat with my cousins, which was fun! We always love to be with them.
Our girls always think it's funny when the moon is out during the day. It makes them giggle :)
Darwin was practicing shots with our new camera and took pictures of all the kids. This is Robby :)
Nick
And Aeryka!
This is their dad, and my cousin, Ronny :)
Savy plugging her ears as the firetruck drove past.
She's a cutie!
She had fun playing in the rocks while we waited for the parade to really get started.
Robby made himself comfortable :)
I love this picture of Talmage--our mysterious little man! Haha!
Plugging her ears again :)
Martha and I each took one of Talmage's ears to cover as the loud sirens went past.
It worked okay, but then Martha took over since he was sitting on her lap.
Biker cops!
Honoring the flag.
Savy really liked this little ambulance :)
A helicopter fly-over. I love that you can actually see the people looking down at the parade!
Our current stake president and his wife.
Some of the primary floats were pretty fun. This was one of our favorites so we took pictures, even though we didn't know any of the people on it.
Fun Jedi costume!
My cousins kids, Jessi and Abbie were in the parade too! It was especially fun for Savannah to wave at people she knew!
This is one of our cute primary kids. Our ward boundaries changed shortly after we were called as primary teachers though, and he was only in our class for a few weeks.
This is the float Aurora was on! She wanted to be with her preschool teacher and friends instead of her church friends this time around.
Our little cutie sitting next to her friend, Henry.
It was hard to get her to smile for us because she was concentrating on singing!
This was our ward primary float.
After the parade we went to the city center for lunch, games, and other fun activities. The girls couldn't wait to ride the ponies! Always a good time!:)
Savy was in heaven. She loves horses!
Look at that smile! :)
The girls had a lot of fun on the bounce houses.
Cute sisters waiting for their turn to go in :)
Love this picture of Savy. Tongue hanging out and everything! :)
Another fun shot of Savy.
Savy and I found Rapunzel!
The girls really wanted to get their faces painted after playing in the bounce houses. Savy went first.
Savannah picked a rainbow. Beautiful girl!
Aurora in the process of getting a kitty face painted on.
Once we got home they went outside to play in more water!
Overall it was a very nice day and fun to celebrate and be together. We're so grateful for our pioneer ancestors and all they did and sacrificed for us as their posterity. Hooray for pioneers!
