Easter 2014

Saturday morning before Easter I took the girls to our city Easter candy pick-up.  It wasn't an Easter egg hunt because they didn't have eggs, just candy, spread out over the high school football field and the kids just went from one end of the field to the other picking up as much candy as they could, as fast as they could, until it was gone.  It was fun, but I think we'll try out a different location next year that we heard is better :)  Daddy couldn't go with us because he had to go to a training for being on our HOA board.  We missed him, but still had fun anyways.
The girls patiently waiting on the track for GO!-time :)

I didn't get any pictures of the action because I was trying to keep Aurora from getting trampled and keep Savannah from crying--she was a little overwhelmed.

Later that afternoon our Aussies came over to dye Easter eggs with us.  We're so glad they came!!

Our Aussies had to leave, but Daddy and Rori weren't quite done with the fun and dyed eggs for a little while longer after they left.

Savannah couldn't do much with dyeing eggs, so she had fun watching while enjoying her spaghetti dinner :)

Once upon a time Aurora was allergic to eggs, but we're pretty sure she's over that now.  She decided she wanted to try one, and I felt really bad when she bit right into the shell, not know she needed to peel the shell off first.  I helped her clean her mouth out and then taught her how to peel her egg.  Sweet girl.  I was proud of her for wanting to try a boiled egg.  She usually refuses eggs when we ask her if she wants some.

Sunday morning we woke up and found that the Easter bunny had come and brought us WAY too much candy!!

The girls definitely enjoyed their pancakes, and we loved ours just as much as they did ;)

Haha!  She seriously gives the best crusty faces!

Mmm!  Maybe it's not so bad.

She loves to fold her arms for prayers now.  Sometimes she thinks we need to pray 3-4 times during a meal.  I think it's cute :)

I'm glad we decided to take pictures of the girls before church :)  We didn't get any pictures of all 4 of us, but I'm glad we at least got some of the girls.  The dress I had planned to put on Savannah ended up being too small, so we had to go with plan B for the Easter dress, but she still looked super cute!

After church we went to dinner at Grandma and Grandpa's house.  This is by far one of the most favorite places in the house for Aurora to be.  Especially when Grandma is cooking dinner :)

 photo DSC05343_zps4aece155.jpg
After a delicious dinner and even more delicious dessert we  spent some time outside in the cool evening air.  I love when the weather warms up and we can spend more time outside.  Summer evenings are one of my most favorite things!

It's always hard to peel the girls away from Grandma and Grandpa's house.  Savannah definitely didn't want to leave the hammock that night.

Easter is one of my most favorite holidays.  I love the feeling of newness and renewal that I get at Easter time.  I love that I think about Nastassia so much when Easter comes around, and I know that it's because of the Atoning sacrifice of our Savior and his Resurrection that we will someday be reunited with our angel baby.

Happy Easter!!

Museum of Natural Curiosity

If you saw my post from yesterday, the pictures of the girls were taken at Thanksgiving Point.  We love Thanksgiving Point for so many reasons!  Over Darwin's spring break we got to check out their new kids museum, The Museum of Natural Curiosity, for free!  It was lots of fun for all of us---and I love the name of the museum :)

Before we left the house to head up though, Darwin snapped a couple pictures of me getting the girls ready.

I thought they were kind of cute, and I love that you can get an idea of how long Aurora's hair is!  Usually you can't tell because it's so curly!  We're so proud of that hair!

Inside the museum is really cool!  In one part of it they have a whole bunch of different rooms where the kids can explore lots of different things.  We got to spend a couple hours there and we didn't even get to explore the water section because it was still under construction.  We'll definitely be going back another time to check out that part.
The first room we checked out was a theater room with a stage and a bunch of props to play with.  You could change the curtains and the theater lighting.  It was pretty cool.  Rori came out from behind the curtain wearing a lion mask!

I guess you could say this was a building room.  They had GIANT legos and a whole bunch of other fun things for the kids to build with.  Rori built a tower out of foam puzzle piece things.

Oh! Who's that cute couple? ;)

In this room the kids got to crank this machine that makes the trains up near the ceiling go around their track.  There's a little screen that lets them see what the train can see as it goes around.  It was pretty neat--a popular area too!

There were several of these box things near the floor that had little things in them for the kids to look at.  This one had a cricket playing a fiddle--Savy really liked it.

The music room was really cool!  You could control the instruments on the wall by pressing different buttons on the computer.  Aurora has a hard time with really loud noises lately though, so this wasn't her favorite room.
 photo DSC_0107_zpse1fdfb64.jpg
Dar, on the other hand, loved it! ;)
 photo DSC_0108_zps858e75dc.jpg
The harp was really cool too.  The "strings" were lasers and you played music by moving your hand across the laser beams.  You could also press a button to change the sound of the harp.

Another big section of the museum is jungle themed.  There are little shops where the kids can "buy" pretend fruits and things that you'd find in a jungle.  There's a section for tiny tots that Savy got to spend a lot of time playing in while she and I waited for Daddy and Rori to go through an obstacle course thing.  Rori played in the tiny tot area for a little while too though :)

Daddy and Rori were going to try out the rope bridge--which was up really high--but Rori was a bit too scared.  Luckily I snatched one picture, pretty zoomed in.

She especially loved to just throw the balls over the edge of the play area.  Nice people kept chasing them down and putting them back in the tiny tot section :)
