Saturday morning before Easter I took the girls to our city Easter candy pick-up. It wasn't an Easter egg hunt because they didn't have eggs, just candy, spread out over the high school football field and the kids just went from one end of the field to the other picking up as much candy as they could, as fast as they could, until it was gone. It was fun, but I think we'll try out a different location next year that we heard is better :) Daddy couldn't go with us because he had to go to a training for being on our HOA board. We missed him, but still had fun anyways.
The girls patiently waiting on the track for GO!-time :)
I didn't get any pictures of the action because I was trying to keep Aurora from getting trampled and keep Savannah from crying--she was a little overwhelmed.
Rori showing me her basket with some of the loot
Some of the group we met up with--I just took a shot of the kids we know :)
Cuties!
Later that afternoon our Aussies came over to dye Easter eggs with us. We're so glad they came!!
Good daddy's helping out :)
Of course the adults got in on the fun too. No worries ;)
Silly Daddy
Our Aussies had to leave, but Daddy and Rori weren't quite done with the fun and dyed eggs for a little while longer after they left.
Savannah couldn't do much with dyeing eggs, so she had fun watching while enjoying her spaghetti dinner :)
Once upon a time Aurora was allergic to eggs, but we're pretty sure she's over that now. She decided she wanted to try one, and I felt really bad when she bit right into the shell, not know she needed to peel the shell off first. I helped her clean her mouth out and then taught her how to peel her egg. Sweet girl. I was proud of her for wanting to try a boiled egg. She usually refuses eggs when we ask her if she wants some.
Sunday morning we woke up and found that the Easter bunny had come and brought us WAY too much candy!!
Let the Easter egg hunt begin!
The girls both got really cool light up balls in their baskets
Spoiling her appetite on delicious Easter candy!
Our awesome Daddy making our awesome breakfast!
Those cute bunny butt banana pancakes tasted just as good as they look! Good job, Dar! You're the best!!! (And thanks to Nanny for the suggestion!)
The girls definitely enjoyed their pancakes, and we loved ours just as much as they did ;)
Cute girl. Love that chocolate face!
Later the same day, for lunch before church, Savannah got to try her first pickle!
Haha! She seriously gives the best crusty faces!
Mmm! Maybe it's not so bad.
She loves to fold her arms for prayers now. Sometimes she thinks we need to pray 3-4 times during a meal. I think it's cute :)
Daddy and Rori had fun making faces with their strawberry tongues
Like daddy--Like daughter
I'm glad we decided to take pictures of the girls before church :) We didn't get any pictures of all 4 of us, but I'm glad we at least got some of the girls. The dress I had planned to put on Savannah ended up being too small, so we had to go with plan B for the Easter dress, but she still looked super cute!
Our beautiful girls in their Easter dresses
Aurora liked that I was tickling them to get them to smile while Daddy took pictures. She had to get in on the fun and help make Savannah laugh :)
Love these little girls so much!!
After church we went to dinner at Grandma and Grandpa's house. This is by far one of the most favorite places in the house for Aurora to be. Especially when Grandma is cooking dinner :)
After a delicious dinner and even more delicious dessert we spent some time outside in the cool evening air. I love when the weather warms up and we can spend more time outside. Summer evenings are one of my most favorite things!
The girls kicked Daddy out :)
It's always hard to peel the girls away from Grandma and Grandpa's house. Savannah definitely didn't want to leave the hammock that night.
Easter is one of my most favorite holidays. I love the feeling of newness and renewal that I get at Easter time. I love that I think about Nastassia so much when Easter comes around, and I know that it's because of the Atoning sacrifice of our Savior and his Resurrection that we will someday be reunited with our angel baby.
Happy Easter!!
