I think I was hesitant to take pictures after our hard drive crashed, thinking we'd lose new pictures too so we didn't take a whole lot of pictures in February and they're all kind of random. With that being the case, I'm summing up February in one post :)
Valentine's Day
Our Valentine's Day this year was pretty uneventful, but still nice. It was more fun to do fun things for the girls with them getting a little older and more aware of holidays. We tried our best to get some good pictures, but they were being stinkers.
They each got Valentine cards from Mom and Dad with a gift to tell them we love them :)
Closing their eyes because their gifts weren't wrapped
Checking out their new doodle pads
They also got Doc McStuffins dolls but we didn't get pictures of those. We love our little sweeties!
We had Stake Conference the night of Valentine's day. Darwin was happy to stay home with the girls so I could go because we didn't want to ask anyone to babysit for us on Valentine's day. I wished he was with me, but I was glad to go to Stake Conference also (and I got to go with my friend, Jenn, as my date ;) She was happy to go with me). While I was gone, Grandma and Grandpa stopped by and gave the girls each a balloon and cute little puppy as their Valentine. The girls LOVE their puppies!
Darwin and I both prefer to not be out in the craziness of Valentine's day and eating out, so we had our Valentine's dinner the next weekend and made some yummy food at home: Chicken cordon blu, asparagus, rolls, and "raspberry stuff" (my family's traditional jell-o salad, although it's usually orange stuff). Scrumptious!
Randoms of the girls
Darwin has been taking 6 credits worth of classes each semester as he works towards a pay raise. As part of his curriculum he has to teach other people what he's learning about (good practice because he's a teacher!) And, because we live with him, the girls and I get to be his guinea pigs most of the time. Savy is a little young and didn't get to participate much, but Aurora loved helping Daddy with his homework! He had to take pictures as evidence that he had completed his assignment of teaching others, and Aurora thought it was pretty awesome to be as goofy as possible :)
Food chain lesson
(Holding a food chain mobile that she colored and helped Daddy put together)
Osmosis lesson
(She's holding a chicken egg with the shell dissolved off of it)
Savannah is our jokester, prankster, and tease. She's hilarious and makes us laugh all the time! We were eating dinner one night and she accidentally got her straw stuck on her head when she was being goofy. It was pretty hilarious because she had no idea it was there for the longest time :)
And she sleeps in crazy positions sometimes. It's pretty awesome.
Our girls really are pretty good friends with each other most of the time. I love that they love to snuggle together at night (sometimes) and occasionally they both fall asleep as I sing to them. It melts my heart!
The other reason we didn't have very many pictures from February is because the girls were sick for half of the month! Aurora got sick first and then Savannah got it, and it lingered forever! I love that Aurora was such a good snuggler for Savy when she didn't feel good and had a fever.
These two LOVE bath time! They get crazy sometimes, but it's part of being a kid, right? I love the goggle photos. They crack me up :)
Orlando's Birthday Party
My friends little boy, who Aurora is friends with, turned 6 in February and we all were invited to attend his party. The girls had a blast. April is such a good planner. She always makes things fun :)
The girls LOVED "adopting a puppy" and that they got to actually color on a toy!
They always do fun pinatas at their parties. I almost love watching the dads rigging up the pinata more than the kids breaking it open :)
The kids all waited very patiently while the pinata was being set up
Aurora was good at whacking the pinata! I guess she has some aggression she needs to get out sometimes :)
Overall, February was a pretty chill month.
(No pun intended ;) Haha!)
That pretty much sums up February!
