I got up early and made a yummy breakfast for Darwin that he really didn't get to enjoy because we have early church and in our rush to get everyone ready and off to church on time he didn't get to eat his yummy breakfast until after church. Such is life, right?
After church I made everyone go sit on the porch swing for a picture with Daddy on his special day. Maybe this is common for kids in general, but our kids get very attached to things that aren't things, such as who said the prayer last and who gets to sit in which place at the table, or on the porch swing. This time they were fighting over the porch swing position. Aurora sat in "Savannah's spot".
Rori got booted from "Savannah's spot" and then didn't want to participate in pictures which made Daddy sad, but it made Savannah happy to have "her spot" back. Talmage couldn't care less about anything going on.
Savannah kindly gave "her spot" back to Aurora so that Aurora would participate in pictures with Daddy for Father's Day. Everyone was happy again!
Happy enough for silly face pictures, in fact.
And we're all so happy to have our new addition for Father's Day pictures this year. We love you, Tal!
It's hard to put into words exactly why this picture cracks me up. It just does.
Happy Daddy with his little mini-me!
Savannah is silly!
Standing on Daddy's feet while rocking the porch swing. It's almost like dancing on Daddy's feet, right? ;)
After Daddy changed out of his church clothes it was time for presents! He was impressed that this one was shipped from China. Literally. It came from China, people!
Getting excited after realizing how cool Mommy is for getting him this gift from China. I mean, he already knew I was pretty cool, but he was definitely excited about this gift! :)
Oh, the anticipation! You wanna know what it is, don't you?
An antigravity globe. Yep. You know you want one! They're AWESOME!
And we gave him Season 1 of the Gargoyles series.
And some Pampered Chef servers he keeps telling me we need. Now he finally has them! :)
Rori is silly :)
He couldn't wait to get his new globe set up! It's small, but it's awesome!
Awesome because it floats! That's right. It floats!
The girls helped me make Chicken Marsala (a.k.a. Chicken Parmesan--inside joke) for Daddy's special dinner, per request of Daddy.
Savy loves to play with the hook attachment for my kitchen aid mixer. Silly kid.
Daddy was given a big Kit-Kat bar at church. Aurora was kind enough to open it and share a piece with everyone :)
Daddy enjoying his Kit-Kat while holding Talmage and browsing floor plans for our home building research.
And I couldn't get this post up without adding this adorable picture Aurora drew of Daddy. She's quite the little artist and some of her work completely melts my heart!
Happy Father's Day, Darwin! We love and appreciate you more than you know. I personally can't imagine my life without you. I admire the man you are and the father you are to our children. I am one lucky gal to have you for eternity! Thank you for all you do for us. We love you, our Daddy!
We are also so very grateful for our dads, grandfathers, brothers, uncles, etc....all the men in our lives who have made an impact on us and helped shape us into the people we are today. Thank goodness for great fathers! We love you!
