When we told Aurora we were going to go see the hot air balloons she told us she wanted to see the piggy balloon again, a tiger balloon, and a baby balloon. Since they didn't launch, we didn't get to see any of them except for a baby balloon! Thanks to the forest rangers for providing this nice "baby" Smokey the Bear balloon to appease our two year old :)
Savannah sure enjoyed sucking on the Bjorn carrier. Cutie. Sorry, Trace, I promise I'll wash it :)
And she followed in her sister's footsteps by sleeping through half of her first Fourth of July parade
Poppers are the best!
I had to post a picture of her hair. I can't tell you how proud I am that my 2.5 year old finally has enough hair to "fix" it cute :)
Aurora played with a couple of small hand fans for most of the parade. I think they were more entertaining to her than the floats. It's all good :)
BFFs: Becca, Me (and Savannah), Tracee
She just won't stop sucking that cute little thumb of hers. What's a mom to do?
How appropriate for Rori to be wearing her firefighter hat when the firetruck drove past ;) And, she loved sitting by Angelica during the parade. I think she found a new friend :)
Our cute patriotic baby on her first Fourth of July!
After a nice long nap and a yummy BBQ at Gramma and Papa's house, we headed to our favorite spot to wait for and then watch the fireworks
(Thanks to Nanny for the girls' festive t-shirts!)
This year our favorite Aussie's sat with us (and thanks for saving us a spot too, guys!)
Glow sticks are always a must while we wait for the fireworks. Tracee made Savannah look like an angel :)
(And I just realized as I went back and looked at our post from Aurora's first 4th of July, they wore the same pajamas for the fireworks. That was totally not planned.)
Our little glow stick lady--with as excited as she was to go see the "Boom-Boom's" she really didn't watch them much.
(Thanks to Gramma and Papa for providing the glow stick entertainment!)
Couldn't resist posting this one: Rori and Mr. P blinded by the camera flash :)
We brought our fun fireworks glasses and our snowflake glasses this year too. Fireworks are awesome on their own, but it's fun to switch things up a bit sometimes :)
That night after we got home, I finally bit the bullet and put Savannah in her crib for the first time. I honestly had a really hard time being okay with it, but she's an awesome sleeper and now we have a little more space in our bedroom with the bassinet out of there.
Dar put her blanket on her and made her look like a little sleeping mermaid
Happy Independence Day!
