I got up at 4:30 this morning to work but I'm having issues with it and no one is in the office yet to help me, so I'm going to work on getting caught up on blogging some more :)
The end of January every year our inner-Aussie comes out as we celebrate Australia Day with some of our favorite people in the world. This clan is so much fun to be with, and we love that we've been adopted into their Australian family and traditions. Boy! Do we love this family!
Almost as soon as we got there, the games started. The kids all played a game (I don't know if it has an actual name or not) where music is played as they pass a present and if the music stops while they're holding it, they get to unwrap a layer and see if they got a little gift.
Aurora got a cute little koala holding an Australia flag
She even got the grand prize at the end of the present - a soft little rugby ball
(sorry about the fuzzy picture--we need a better camera!)
We all ate delicious food and showed some of our Aussie pride
After dinner was a game called "Pass the Boomerang". It was a pretty funny game to watch :)
We sang songs and the kids helped with puppets
Grandma Diane pretending to play a didgeridoo :)
Vannah had a fun time crawling around and exploring under the tables
Everyone played "Tunnel Ball" (and another game I don't remember the name of right now) and at first they tried to incorporate all the kids into the lines, but I think it was more fun for everyone when the kids were all put into a line of their own
Looks like Dar's team won :)
Aurora found her friend, Angelica, and was kind of her shadow for a good part of the night. Thanks for being so cute with her and letting her be your side-kick, Angelica!
Savannah found a ball to play with too :)
We didn't get a really great picture of our family, but not for lack of trying (Thanks, Trace!). But we got a couple where at least one kid is looking at the camera each time :)
Thanks again, Aussie fam, for including us! We love being with you guys!
