The Monday following our day trip to Idaho for my family reunion, we woke up before the sun and began our journey to the coast for a week and a half. It's funny that before Darwin and I had kids we swore we would never buy a vehicle with a DVD player in it. Hahahaha! We seriously just laugh at ourselves now because that DVD player is a life saver, especially on long road trips! The trip out to Oregon is a LONG one!
(P.S. I'm breaking our trip up by day because we did a LOT!)

Day 1 - Destination: Medford, OR
Our first potty-stop was at the Salt Flats. We didn't stay long because we wanted to be in Medford by 6pm, and it was SUPER windy! It was nice to get out of the car for a minute though.
We surprised the girls with a few things for the trip. One of them was a neck pillow to help keep their head up (and prevent their necks from hurting) when they fell asleep in the car. Although they don't look super comfortable, they are, and they worked like a charm! I'm so glad we got them!
Their neck pillows were great for entertainment when they were awake too!
Savannah got a yellow lion
Aurora got a red fox
And you can kind of see the other gift we gave them for the trip--a personalized backpack that was full of entertainment things, a new movie for each of them, and some snacks. Aurora got a pink owl and Savannah got a purple zebra. The backpacks are super cute, and the girls LOVE them! Great purchase!
Somewhere in Nevada we saw a cowboy rounding up some cows in the middle of the road :)
Also, somewhere along the way when the girls were watching their new Muppets movie,
Aurora said: "Can you guys please stop the movie?"
Me: "How come?"
Aurora: "I want to watch the water splash on the road."
[She was seeing the shiny reflection of the light on the road in the distance that makes the road look like it has water on it :)]
Our destination in Medford was to Darwin's cousins house. Darwin has a couple of cousins that live in Medford. One is from his mom's side and one is from his dad's side. Funny thing is that those cousins (who are unrelated to each other) are really good friends and just happen to share the same relatives! It worked out really well for us that we were all able to get together for dinner. Thanks again for hosting, Bryce and Katie!
