Drum roll, please!!
On Saturday, I ran my first ever 5k!! D ran it too but he's done several in the past so it's not quite as exciting of an announcement for him :). This was a HUGE accomplishment for me, especially if you know me well and know everything I've gone through with my foot. But, no more excuses because it's been 4 1/2 years (WOW!!) since I've really had any complications or pain in my foot so it's about time I bucked up and finally did something like this. Thanks D for being my motivation and my inspiration!! You're the best!! I can't wait to do another one with you in June!
D came in 14th place with a time of 27:30, and I don't know what my placement was, but I beat my personal record and came in at a time of 33:14. It was pretty cold, and I wished I had brought gloves to wear, but at least it didn't rain on us like we thought it might!! The pictures are not attractive AT ALL, but we needed to document this momentous occasion so I'm willing to post not-so-attractive pictures of us :)
This is one of D's coworkers (Mr. Hunter) and his son, Dillan. Dillan is like 6, and was ahead of me for the first mile. Haha. Way to go, Dillan!!
After the 5k we went up to Layton for a couple of weddings. First was Shannell. Our moms are best friends, and we've known their family for almost 13 years; ever since the Powell's moved to the States from New Zealand. Congrats, Shannell!!
Me & my beautiful friend, Connie
Next was my good friend from high school, TJ. I've known TJ since 1st grade and have tons of fun memories of our good times together. He finally married his sweetheart, June, after dating her for several years. I'm so happy for them both! Congrats TJ & June!!

Wow! A 5K!! Good job. I'm planning on running one the end of next month and I haven't even started running yet. You give me hope, Kiara.
