Savannah's birthday was March 22nd, and because she LOVES animals, we decided it would be a fun birthday treat to take her to the Living Planet Aquarium. We were right. She loved it! :)

Rori loved the pretty pictures on our tickets
Our cutie pa-tootie birthday girl!
Trying to show us two fingers because she was turning two!
Dad and Mom with the birthday girl
Rori had to get in on the action too!
Watching for Grandma and Grandpa who joined us
Savannah loved that the "quackies" were standing on one leg while they were sleeping
Aurora was terrified of the animals at first. She was afraid they could get out of their tanks. She kept her distance for a while and freaked out every time I tried to pick her up to comfort her. It took some convincing before she warmed up to the fact that the animals were not going to get out. Poor thing.
Savannah, on the other hand, seemed fascinated by everything :)
We all love turtles!
Savy sitting on an orca whale
The real penguins were hard to take pictures of but they were really fun to watch. Some animals are so fascinating! The girls really liked watching the penguins.
Measuring up!
Giving us her "goofy eyes"
Gotta love Rori's "tude" in this picture :)
The poisonous frog exhibit was one of our favorites, surprisingly. (Maybe it's because we love the poisonous frog on Rio 2!) We looked at the frogs for a long time! Their colors were so pretty!
Toucan's are amazing birds. So beautiful!
Some more beautiful birds!
(My fourth grade teacher raised parrots like this. And blue and gold macaws, just a little gee-whiz. Haha!)
Shark! Grandma didn't want to get eaten with us :)
After being there for a while, Savy started getting a little sleepy as it was getting closer to nap time. So she started making herself cozy where ever she could. Cutie pie.
We couldn't use flash photography at the shark tank, but it's really cool! The tank makes a tunnel that the path goes through and you can see the sharks and fish above you and on both sides.
A creepy green eel
That was the last exhibit we went to. After the shark tank we went to check out the gift shop. Savy loves stuffed animals and I just about died when I turned around and saw her snuggling up to this penguin:
This is the penguin she loved the most though, and the one that ended up coming home with us because I couldn't bear to pull her away from it (and we planned to get the girls a souvenier anyway).
The aquarium was really cool. Aurora wants to go back for her next birthday now. I'm just glad she was able to get over her fears (for the most part) and enjoy herself while we were there. Savannah loved it, and we knew she would. She kept trying to move ahead of us to see what was next! I'm glad we have so many cool things to see and do close to where we live.
