July 27, 2016 - Dinosaur Ridge
Wednesday afternoon was check-in for Darwin's conference but we decided to go to Dinosaur Ridge at the recommendation of our Aussies in the morning before he needed to be back for the conference.
The kids and I by the visitors center sign
The rock slabs on the side of the mountain are where all the fossils were that we saw. We decided to walk up the hill instead of waiting for the shuttle.
Sitting next to some fossilized water ripples.

Rori next to some clam holes
More ripple marks
The girls and I next to some big dino prints
(and Savannah holding her special sunflower)
Rori sitting in a dino print :)
Scratch marks
Cool dino prints!
Trudging up the hill :)
Little worm-like marks
Standing by a big dino near the visitors center
Dino hugs!
Rori wondering what the dino is doing :)
Daddy and the girls by another big dino
Silly girls :)
Being scared
We were glad we took the opportunity to go check it out. It was HOT, but worth it :)
July 27, 2016 - Hanging out at the Rental
The kids and I dropped Daddy off at his conference and then went back to the rental house to nap for a few hours. When Daddy was done at his conference for the day we had a yummy dinner outside. The weather was perfect in the evening. We ate dinner outside almost every night we were there. It was so nice!
This was Talmage's first time trying green beans :)
Poor little guy gagged on them :(
Then he decided they were okay afterall.
We saw lots of squirrels in Denver!
We love the silly things this girl does! :)
Daddy and Talmage!
One downside to the rental we stayed at was that there was no bathtub. Just a tiny little shower. So small that Darwin joked that if you bent over to wash your toes, the shower door would pop open. Haha! The girls were forced to take a shower instead of bath that week, which they actually thought was pretty cool despite their initial protests. Talmage got to take his first sink bath while we were there. He was a trooper!
Not so sure about it at first.
It took him a few minutes to be okay with it.
It was surprisingly hot in the basement apartment. There was AC, but the controls were upstairs so we couldn't control the temperature. Luckily there was 1 fan but we all had to share it. So after being so hot all night the first night because we had the fan on the girls, we ended up having them sleep on the floor in our room so we could all benefit from the fan. It was so worth it!
The girls slept like little angels :) Talmage was another story--it was actually a really rough week sleep-wise for Mommy and Talmage, but we made it through!
